No baby yet!

We were really hoping and praying that we would go to the Dr. today and she would say, "WOW, you're in labor, let's go to the hospital!!!" But that didn't happen. I am still not dilated at all, sad. I thought I would be emotional about it, but I really am ok with it. God has granted me a measure of grace and patience and I am so thankful for it. Dr. Furniss said that the baby's head is engaged at the 0 station, so he/she is ready, I'm just not having any contractions, so I'm not dilating. I am so thankful for Dr. Furniss, she really made me feel better and eased my mind. So, though things aren't going as we would have them, they are still SO GOOD! I've been sleeping pretty well and I'm not that achy anymore. And the baby is safe and healthy and happy. The heartbeat was about 140 and he/she probably weighs around 7.5 pounds right now. Praise God! He's working and taking care of us. Our prayer is that I will go into labor naturally, whenever that is, and I won't have to be induced. And of course for patience.

Brian and I are both getting more and more excited about moving and our new house and all that. I have been mentally decorating each room for a couple of weeks now, so that's fun. We look at the pictures we have of it all the time and I can really see us in it! It's gonna be fun! I know it hasn't quite hit us that we're not gonna be in Starkville anymore, and when it does that's gonna be hard. But God has it all under control, so we're good. Thanks for your prayers! I love ya'll.

Praying for Patience

I am really praying for patience now! My due date is 10 days away and there doesn't seem to be anything happening. We have our Dr. appointment Friday this week (our Dr. is out of town--How dare she!!!) so we'll know for sure if things have progressed then. In the meantime, we had a great weekend! My parents came up for the day Saturday and we just hung out, went to lunch, rode around a little and enjoyed the awesome weather. Then Sunday after church Brian and I went out the the Refuge and walked to a couple of scenic parts, and we rode around on the rough roads out there. (We were kind of hoping the ride would start labor, but no.) It was such a beautiful day!!! We had a good time. Then we rode around Starkville for a little while. We're definitely getting nostalgic and trying to enjoy everything here before we leave. I can't believe that we are moving in about a month and a half! It's crazy! Every once in a while it hits one or both of us just how much our lives are about to change. We have no concept of it, really, but here it comes, ready or not. Praise God that He is gracious and merciful and gives us comfort and assurance through His word. God is so good. And all of these huge changes that sometimes seem so scary are from Him. He is blessing us beyond anything we could ask or want! Praise God! :)

Braxton Hicks--OUCH!

We have two weeks to go until our due date and we really really really thought that today was the BIG day! We had our weekly appointment this morning so Brian didn't go to work and I got up earlier than usual to get ready. As I was taking a shower this sharp pain started in my abdomen (on the lower non-visible-to-me side of the belly) and it seemed pretty constant at first. Then it would come and go and my back hurt and I was hot and a little nauseated. So I really thought that I was in early labor. I calmly got together the things that weren't packed yet and when Brian got out of the shower I told him that I really thought I was in labor. He was really calm, surprisingly we both were. So we finished getting ready and got everything in the car and headed to our appointment. We didn't really start timing the contractions until we were on our way to the time we have to do better on that. I just knew that this was it and Baby Chisholm was coming today, but by the time we got there they weren't as frequent, and by the time we saw Dr. Furniss they were gone. So, it was a false alarm! Booooo! I was excited! :) But that's ok. God's getting me ready, and Baby Chisholm will come in His perfect time. I keep telling myself that, and I'm praying sooo much for patience. Anyway, for those of you that have never had Braxton Hicks contractions, they HURT! And they are just the warm up. PRAY FOR ME! After this morning natural childbirth is much scarier! :)
Anyway, after all that I had my exam and I'm still not dilated at all! Dr. Furniss said everything looks good. She said the head is way down low. That's probably why I go to the bathroom about twice an hour now. So we'll go back next week and see what's going on then. The baby is moving a whole lot, and kicking my ribs like crazy!!! He or she is definitely running out of room in there. Maybe he/she will decide to come out soon!
On a different subject, we are probably closing on OUR HOUSE :) :) :) tomorrow. We are planning to drive to Greenville and meet the Fores there to sign all the paperwork. We weren't sure how we were going to do it, but now that we know that I'm not dilated, we're just going to meet them half-way and take our hospital bag and everything with us just in case. So be praying that the trip will be safe and that nothing will happen--or if it does we get back fast!
