Information Overload!!! :)

We have about three weeks and 2 days until the due date and things are getting crazy! We had our last childbirth class last night and it was really good. Paula (the teacher) showed us the labor and delivery rooms and the nursery and lots of stuff. It made me feel better to see it all and know where we'd be. We alsoo talked about Child Safety Seats and Infant CPR, we needed a refresher on that, so it was good. But when we got home last night both Brian and I were just overloaded! We have taken in so much information lately and have so much going on!!! And the baby could be here ANY TIME!!! Ahhhhhh! :) We're a little anxious, yes, but we're not freaking out! It's been so great to just talk to eachother about our concerns and thoughts, that has helped tremendously! Then today I went to the Pediatrician's office for a prenatal visit, just to meet the doctor and fill out some paperwork and ask questions. The doctor we want is Dr. Ruff who is AWESOME! I had never met him, until today, but Brian knew him when he worked at OCH and was adamant that we use him! He is the nicest, most down-to-earth and just friendly guy!!!! I love him! I'm sad that he won't be our baby's doctor for very long. :( He answered all of my questions and was just great! So, I got more information, but that's ok, I'm handling it. :)
So, we have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning and we'll see if I'm dilated yet. It would be so cool if I am, but at the same time, we have SOOO much to get done that I hope I'm not. I still think Baby Chisholm is going to be early. I have March 6th in my head, but that's probably just because 6 is my favorite number, so....who knows??? Well, God does, that's for sure, and that's definitely good enough for me!

36 weeks--only FOUR to go!!!

Wow! It's getting SUPER close now! We went to the doctor again today and we'll be going every week from now on until Baby Chisholm arrives. Dr. Furniss is so great! We love her. She said everything is going well and that I'm not dilated yet, but the baby is facing head down which is great! So he or she is in position! WEIRD! I've been feeling some pressure and soreness in my lower abdomen, and now I know why. We seriously have 2 weeks until I'm full term and 4 weeks until our due date! I'm so excited! I can't wait to meet our little one! I know everyone else is excited and ready too! Nana Betsy regularly tells me how ready and anxious she is! :) I love you Mom!
We're praying a lot that everything financially, logistically, emotionally, and health-wise will fall into place for our upcoming move to Rison. We're so excited about the house, and though it's not ours yet, it almost is. It's kinda scary too! We're actually grown-ups now! How crazy is that????

I had a shower in Starkville this past weekend. Here are a few pictures from it. We had a great time! Thanks Crystal, Katey, Becky, Linda, and Cindy! I love ya'll!

God's Amazing Provision!

In the last week things have changed so much as far as where we thought we were going to live when we move to Arkansas. Praise God!!! He provided so completely and so perfectly what we needed at the exact time we needed it and everything has fallen into place so well!
The short story is that we were looking at buying a fixer-upper in Rison that had a ton of potential. We had just ordered an appraisal on it, but our friend Diane Fore at the bank couldn't get in touch with the appraiser, so things were on hold. Diane called Brian last Wednesday about the appraisal and while they were on the phone her husband, Rickey, came in and got on the phone with Brian. He had seen some people looking at the fixer-upper that we wanted. As he told Brian this Diane called the realtor to see what was going on, and found out that the house had SOLD!!!! Praise God that Diane couldn't get in touch with the appraiser, b/c we would've wasted like $300. Then the Fores told Brian about another house that had just come up for sale in a little neighborhood. Diane really talked it up and said it would be perfect. So Brian called me and told me all of this and we decided to go to Rison the next day to check it out. (We really didn't want to have this one sold out from under us.) So Thursday we arrived in Rison and looked a the house. And we LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! These are the pictures from that. Most of them are pretty self-explanitory, but the random one with school buses in it is the school. The picture is taken from the front porch, and that's how close we'll be to the school. (Not that anything is soooo far from it in all of Rison. haha) The house is PERFECT for us--3 bedrooms, 2 baths, nice BIG kitchen, living room, and laundry room!!!! And there is a lot for sale next door that we want to buy as well. So, that night we met with the owner of the house and came to an agreement. He had had 22 calls about the house in 2 days!!! And we were the first! God totally worked this out for us! I was just flabbergasted at how fast everything happened, but I feel so great about it and Brian and I prayed about it and we have no doubts. We're both really excited! So now we're waiting on the appraisal of this house and some other things before the closing, which will be in a week or two! WOW we're going to OWN A HOUSE!!! Praise God for His provision and His amazingly perfect will!

34 weeks now!

We went to the doctor today for a check-up and I am at exactly 34 weeks. She said everything is going great and is right on schedule. We asked her lots of questions about some stuff going on--my feet and hands have been swelling, when before they didn't, and sometimes I see stars in my peripheral (sp?) vision--but she said that's normal. I figured that it was, but we had our first childbirth class Monday night and were told that those can be signs of preterm labor. So we thought we'd check just to make sure. The class was good though, we both enjoyed it! We have three more weeks of it and then it'll really be baby time! It's funny though, I have this feeling that the baby is going to come before the due date. I don't know how far before, but I just think he or she won't be too much longer. I may just be getting antsy though, every time my stomach or back hurts I think, "Am I going into labor???" I guess that's normal. I'm praying that Baby Chisholm will be full term, which is 37 complete weeks--which is really 38 weeks--they do this stuff weird! Like the whole being pregnant for 9 months, but it's 9 complete months, so it's really more like 10 months. That is a quote from our childbirth instructor. Confusing, huh??? I just go by weeks.
We have the crib all set up in our room now, I'll put pics up when I can. And I have a good bit of the baby stuff organized. I went to WalMart yesterday and got most of the things I need for my hospital bag and I'm going to start getting that together. I am in full preperation mode for sure. But honestly, I'm getting a little burnt out from all the baby information going through my brain CONSTANTLY! So today I'm going to the library to get a book that has NOTHING to do with babies. I think Baby Chisholm understands. :)

Correction:

In the post "Our house is becoming Baby Central" I wrote about how we were exctied because we got the crib and strolled the panda around in it. I wrote "crib" but I meant Stroller--I keep getting them mixed up. I don't know why, it's not like they look anything alike! Anyway. Sorry Grandmamma and Grandpa Chisholm. We love you! And we love the STROLLER. :)

Biloxi Baby Shower

I had my second shower this weekend on the coast and it was really fun! Lots of people showed up, family and friends. We had a great time and got some fantastic stuff. We got a Pack and Play which is HUGE!!! I was really excited about it. And it has Winnie the Pooh on it! Yeah!
The first picture is of the Winnie the Pooh cake. Then there's a picture of me, my Mom, my Grandma, and my aunt Genny--just a few of the women on my Mom's side of the family. Then there is a picture of me with Brian's Mom, Nancy, and his sister, Amanda. And then me with the two soon-to-be grandmas. My Mom is going to be called Nana and Brian's Mom will be Grandmamma. They are excited! The book that I'm holding up in the last picture is one of the many books that Mrs. Nancy and Amanda got for Baby Chisholm. It's about a yellow Lab named Lucy!!! Just like our Lucy girl!!! It's precious! We had a good time and it was sooooo good to see everybody! I got to see people I hadn't seen in probably 5 or so years. :)
My Mom and I headed back to Madison after the shower and now today, Sunday, I'm going back to Starkville with a car load! Praise God for everybody's generousity and love! We already have been blessed with so much for little Baby Chisholm. :)

Here are the pictures of the stroller , the piles I made, and the crib. Isn't everthing cute!!!!!!!!!

Our house is becoming Baby Central!

I am officially in the nesting phase of pregnancy! This week I sorted through all of the baby stuff we've gotten so far and put it in piles. One for clothing, one for bath stuff, etc... And I was really really bad! We still had the crib in my car from this weekend and I got really impatient and decided to get it out by myself. Well then I couldn't just put the pieces on the floor somewhere so I decided to put the crib together by myself too. And I didn't let Brian know about this because I was pretty sure he wouldn't want me to do it. So anyway, after bending part of the crib and hammering it back in place and calling my dad for instructions and crying to him because I thought I broke something I thought about stopping and letting Brian do it. But I didn't. :) I eventually got the whole thing assembled and the mattress put in after quite a bit of bending and lifting and crawling and acrobatics. haha. And then I called Brian and told him what I did. He laughed at me and then he got a little annoyed and said I shouldn't have done that. I know I shouldn't have, and I could have gotten hurt. But I did. I'm hard headed. I don't know where that somes from. HA! Oh and the best part of this is that I put the crib together in the guest room and it won't fit through the door, so now Brian is going to take it apart and put it back together in our room where it belongs. So much for cutting down on the amount of work he has to do. Poor guy!
We also got the stoller this week!!!!!!!!!! It's so cute and perfect! Brian put it together and we pushed it around inside. We even gave Andy the Panda a ride in it. He is strapped in and safe. I really really love it! Thank you Grandmamma and Grandpa Chisholm!
